Living On Lake Tahoe’s Northshore

I love living on Lake Tahoe’s Northshore. Here are some of the reason that I chosen Tahoe City as my hometown.

Tahoe City Downtown

1st the People. We are a variety of people who have chosen Tahoe City as their home town. Outdoorsy People, mostly college educated, who love food, fun, and living an active lifestyle. Some are wealthy and some are not. The town is only 4 blocks long, so you see people in town, no matter what your financial status,  Most people don’t care what kind of car you drive, it’s about who you are as a person. Are you kind, to others, to you enjoy life, and you a pleasure to be around.

2nd The Personality of Tahoe City, We have a very active town. My favorite parts of summer are going to the farmer’s market on Thursdays. It’s the best farmer’s market around. Lots of vendors, and it’s held down at commons beach. I also love the free concerts on Sunday evenings. People bring their picnic dinners, wine and hang out. It’s a great way to make new friends and also catch up with people you haven’t seen in awhile. It’s Sunday evenings, so many of the weekenders are gone. It’s about 80% locals.

Local Fair

3rd The proximity to the Ski Resorts, Alpine Meadows, Squaw Valley and Homewood are all within 15 mins.

4th The bike paths are great. They are mostly flat and you can ride from Dollar Point to Squaw Valley or down Lake Tahoe’s West Shore to Tahoma.

Bike Path

5th. The Yacht Club is very active. Wednesday Night Beer Can races are tons of fun. If Tim, wants to get into Laser Racing on Monday Nights’ that’s also a very active group. The have A & B class, so he can learn the ropes in B class and then move to A class when he’s ready. Most of the Laser Racers are in the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s. http://www.tahoeyc.com/

Sailboat Racing

There are many more things I love about Tahoe City, but I think you get the point.

Dollar Point is a community that I think would make a great place to live and share with your kids. I also think it makes an excellent rental property when you’re not around. The private beach, the buoy fields, pool and Tennis courts are great for summer rentals, and the proximity to Tahoe City and the Ski Resorts makes it great for winter rentals.  http://www.dollarpoint.org/

You can get on your mountains bikes right from Edgewood and get on to the miles of mountain biking trails on the “fiberboard freeway” http://www.tahoesbest.com/Biking/
